The Founder/President of Joao Saldanha University/Institute (JSU/I) João M. Saldanha, PhD, as Member of the Board of Central Bank of Timor-Leste with President of the Board, Governor Helder Lopes, Director General, other Board Members and Secretary of the Board visited National Bank of Cambodia in Phnom Pen from July 21 - July 24.
The agenda is to strengthen cooperation and exchange experience in developing the national economies of both countries. This is part of the Southeast Asian Tour.
The next countries will be Malaysia and Indonesia visiting Central Banks of both countries.” The BCTL is very impressed with National Bank of Cambodia and development of Cambodia after the long and protracted war. Cambodia is planning to achieve upper-middle income status in 2030 and high income country in 2050.
The JSU Founder/President Dr Saldanha also is convinced that Timor-Leste also can achieve upper-middle income status by 2040 and high income status by 2050 if substantive reforms are taking to address challenges and setting the right priorities in the coming quarter century. JSU will contribute with its capabilities to help Timor-Leste achieving its targets of 2040 and 2050.
